Cooking Italian food, eating Italian food, thinking about Italian food … those are Alex’s hobbies. The Portland native’s passion is education, whether through teaching children or helping customers solve problems. She has five-plus years of experience teaching preschool, outdoor programs, and before-and-after-school programs. Alex also worked and learned a lot from her local utility company. When she was a student herself, she adored her social justice teacher. “That teacher helped me become more conscious of the world around me,” Alex says. “I believe it is really important to teach students and their families about what is happening in our global community, then teach them how they can have a positive impact.”
